Racing looks to win 5 in a row on Sunday in Chicago.

The two teams matched up at the start of Racing’s four-match winning streak and Racing mostly controlled that match until a Bloomer error made things tight at the end. No matter how good a team is, five-match winning streaks are somewhat rare. I asked Bev if she ever recalled her longest winning streak as a pro. She didn’t recall, but I assume that it was the seven-match run at the start of the Seattle Reign's 2014 season. That team went 16 unbeaten on the way to winning the shield and losing in the playoff final.

The feat of winning five in a row is even tougher now, but there still have been three five-match win streaks so far this year: San Diego, Utah, and Washington. Bev cautioned not to overlook the Stars despite their 5-0 defeat to Houston. They did get off 12 shots and a few quality ones.

This away trip will be a keen test of Racing’s focus. It is the type of match that you would expext a good team to control from start to finish, but control through possession isn't Racing’s style. They'll probably look to press Chicago into danger early and try to put them on the back foot.
