Lou City 1- Sporting Jax 0 As Very Little Happened
Let's talk about Jacksonville
I have been to Florida a few dozen times (at least a couple of dozen times too many in my opinion) but even I haven't hit a spot low enough in my life to set foot in Jacksonville. Based on my observations, if something exists, the worst version of it probably resides in Jacksonville, Florida. Worst NFL franchise? Jacksonville. Worst meaningless urban sprawl? Jacksonville. Worst Perkins Restaurant? While I can't picture any of them with anything more than a B health department rating, I assume that the one in Jacksonville is allowed to remain open with a D- rating. Their new soccer club is keeping up its part of the bargain by employing the worst footballer from the Neville family in Nepo Baby, Harvey Neville. His dad is a former Man U player and current head coach of the Portland Timbers, Phil Neville. His uncle is also a former Man U player and current world-renowned prat, Gary Neville. Lou City should absolutely demolish this team.
Lou City lined up as:
1-Fauroux, 3-Morris, 5-Dayes, 6-Duncan, 7-Serrano, 8-T Davila, 14-Showunmi, 15-Perez, 16-Moguel, 27-E Davila, 32-Adams (C)
2nd Minute
Lou City has an early corner to defend. No real danger comes from it.
4th Minute
Perez's cross doesn't make it to Serrano.
6th Minute
Perez makes a foray into the box but can't quite find the space to get off a decent shot.
9th Minute
Morris and Serrano combined play results in another unsuccessful entry into the box.
10th Minute
Another entry into the box by Lou City and another last ditch effort to keep them out by Jacksonville.
13th Minute
Duncan's shot from distance requires a touch from the keeper to make sure it doesn't go into the net and Lou City gets a corner.
15th Minute
Lou City is getting into good spots but the team just seems a little disconnected at the moment.
16th Minute
Lou City concedes a free kick in a rather dangerous spot.
22nd Minute
Tola's shot from the top of the box is saved and goes out for a corner.
23rd Minute
Moguel misses a golden opportunity to score with a header. Best chance so far.
24th Minute
Davila the Meaner (Evan's description of his new haircut earns him an updated nickname) and Serrano can't connect and another good chance goes by the wayside.
26th Minute
Serrano's solo effort goes over the top of the bar.
29th Mintute
Davila the Elder has a go from distance and it is saved out for a corner.
34th Minute
The Jacksonville keeper almost makes a mess of things but the ball rolls safely into his hands.
39th Minute

Half time
0-0
ZZZZZ!
51st Minute
Lou City has some possession to start the second half but no real chances.
54th Minute
Tola almost chips the keeper but a defender makes a last ditch effort to keep it out of the goal.
57th Minute
Tola crosses one to find Serrano but the keeper saves a pretty tame header.
62nd Minute
Tola has another good opportunity but I'm not quite sure why he doesn't get a good touch on it and it ends up rolling right to the keeper.
64th Minute
Wilson, Akale and Donovan in for DTM, Serrano and Tola.
65th Minute
Wilson shoots right at me but unfortunately I'm not standing in the goal frame.
74th Minute
Akale weaves his way into the box but the ball gets away from him and it is cleared into the seats.
75th Minute
Gleadle in for Perez.
80th Minute
Wilson gets fouled by a Jacksonville player who gets a yellow card for a really cynical tackle just outside the box.
85th Minute
Fauroux goes down on a late challenge. After the match he is still sore and definitely not too pleased about the late contact.
90th Minute
Niang in for Duncan.
Stoppage Time
Morris has a snap shot go wide.
Wilson's finish from Morris turns a dreary day/match into a halfway decent one.

Full Time
Lou City 1 - Sporting Jax 0
Lou City definitely looks like a team that needs a day off and a full week of practice, but still gets all 3 points. Wilson reflects on his moment of brilliance and describes his movements before the goal. Upon later review, his finish is even more impressive because that shot is one that is easy to hit over the bar. Manny relects on a day where City weren't at their best but still got the job done. Coach Bird will be happy to get a normal week of work in before the next match.
