Wright, Weber, Borges, O’Kane, and Milliet celebrate Racing making the playoffs for the first time in club history.
Stop the roller coaster, I’m ready to get off. At the top! In the playoffs!
While most of us would have preferred to clinch a playoff spot a couple games ago, some people like the excitement of watching two games at once on Sunday afternoon. And those are the same people who eat the black jellybeans and then smile at you with black teeth and think they are hilarious.
The rest of us held our breaths while Racing hosted Bay for the final match of the season. We patiently waited until the 48th minute for Ella Hase to give Racing the first goal of the match. We then trusted our defense to keep Bay from scoring and they did.
Jellybeans or not, there were big smiles all around when that final whistle blew.
I don’t know how we ended up here so early in the match but Bay’s free kick was met with some hand-on-the-hip attitude from Kayla Fischer and some stay-out-of-my-yard energy from Bloomer.
Fresh off her hat trick with the US Women’s team, Emma Sears reminds Bay who they’re up against.
Some fans were unclear on whether or not Emma would be back in time to play in Racing’s last match of the season. She’s back, baby! Now with marshmallows!

The highlight of the match - Ella Hase scores her first NWSL goal! (I had gone for nachos so I’m hoping you won’t notice this is not Ella Hase and this is not a goal, but can you really ever have too much Lo Milliet in your life?)
