Handshake, fist bump, hug it out…we sure did miss these guys!
We’re baaaaaaaaack (now with more a’s) and fans couldn’t be happier! Unless you give them scarves and stickers and offer pizza and beer and a chance to hang out with the players and get autographs…but wait, Lou City did that! The team hosted the season ticket holders at Nobel Funk on February 19th and brought all the things.
The players had almost as much fun as the fans, even Manny Perez who was celebrating his birthday. The fans knew it was his birthday (the club does an awesome job of keeping the fans informed on these details via social media and vibes), so I guarantee this man had the most birthday wishes that he’s ever had. The youngsters on the team (yes, we have a high school junior in our midst, let that sink in) were excited to be treated as the rock stars that they are. They were gracious and professional and why aren’t all teenagers like this? Their moms and dads should write a book, please and thank you, entitled “How to raise a child and skip the teenageness of the teenage years.” It’s too late for me but parents of young children, save yourselves!
Since it’s a weekday and I have a job, I will just post my 200 pictures below for your perusal and downloading (always easy and free!) and save the captioning and commentary for the first game (the Lexington road game where we kidnap Phil Goodrum and bring him home).
